Joyful Sounds Studio

Joyce's Piano Lessons La Grande, Oregon

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE ON THE

HONOR ROLL?

The Joyful Sounds Piano Studio Honor Roll?

Now you can!!

There are three categories and two levels for each category. In each category, you will earn a certificate when you reach 100 points, then a blue ribbon when you reach 200 points. Once you receive 200 points, your name will be on the Honor Roll wall for that category and also in the Piano Newsletter.  When your name is on the Honor Roll for all three categories, you receive a Special Achievement Award called an Award of Excellence.  That is the highest award you can earn, but you have to work hard at it.

Here are the three Categories and what you have to do in each category to earn your certificates and ribbons.

PRACTICE AWARDS

100 points for practicing 50 Consecutive Days without missing a day of practice (6 days a week) without having to be reminded by your parent.  Parent will verify if necessary. This means you will HAVE to keep track of your practice in your assignment book.

100 points for practicing 6 hours or more in 1 week.

You can choose which category you want to do two times, or do each category 1 time.

THE POINT CLUB AWARD

100 points for learning 100 pieces of music starting from now.  Pages in the lesson and sight reading books don’t count, but all other books and sheet music does.  YOU will need to keep a list of your songs and the date that you have learned them (all 7 levels).

100 points will earn you a certificate; 200 points will put you on the Honor Roll for this category and you will receive a blue ribbon.

PERFORMANCE AWARD

One point is scored for every person who hears you play your piece, so the bigger the audience, the more points you receive.

Student will produce the name and date of the event, and the amount of people who attended the event (and heard the piece played) along with a parent or even organizer’s signature. Pieces from the lesson book and sight reading book do not count as most of them are pretty short and more technique- based.

These “events” may be family at home listening to a song being played as well.

A certificate will be awarded when 100 points are reached and you will be on the honor roll and receive a blue ribbon for this category when 200 points are reached.

Once you have received blue ribbons for all three categories and your name is on the Honor Roll for all three categories, the Award of Excellence trophy will be yours and you will have a special recognition at the next recital.
